Mark Blackbourn a Year 9 student at Greenfield School becomes the 7500 visitor to the programme.

First Junior Club Championships held. Richard Summerbell, Andrew Richardson and Fiona Davison were champions

Greenfield Tennis Programme nominated as LTA School of The Year.

The Boys Under 15 team awarded joint Team Of The Year at school Sports Awards. Tony Ng was named Most Improved Player and Chris Martin received a special award for his outstanding contribution to the development of the tennis programme.

The Boys Under 15 team reach 2 County Finals, but are beaten by Durham Johnson.


2001

Greenfield Tennis Club play first match v Bishop Auckland. Team :  M Thornton & D Turgoose, I Wilkinson & A Richardson lost 1-7

November 3rd

David Turgoose became visitor 1000 since the tennis programme started in April

October 12th

Aaron Shepherd, David Turgoose, Andrew Richardson, Tony Ng, Jonathan Mallows, Bradley Stokoe and Steven Temple invited to become Greenfield Academy players.

Official Opening of the Greenfield Tennis Facility by Chris Dight,  North East Regional Manager of LTA

First October Tennis Festival  includes coaching from CDO Graeme Clarkson, Active Sport Tennis, Junior and Senior Club Nights and Fun Tournament. Prizes donated by Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream
